Artwork auctioned at ten times the upper estimate price
The work Calligraphy by Qian Mu was worth HKD 187,500.00 (€ 18,594.09) to a buyer in May 2013. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 18,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Qian Mu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Kaishu, which sold at auction in April 2013 for HKD 562,500.00 (€ 55,062.46).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy von Qian Mu war einem Käufer im Mai 2013 HKD 187.500,00 (€ 18.594,09) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 18.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Qian Mu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Kaishu beobachtet, die im April 2013 für HKD 562.500,00 (€ 55.062,46) versteigert wurde.
