Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Calligraphy by Qian Mu was worth USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,705.74) to a buyer in March 2017. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Qian Mu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Kaishu, which sold at auction in April 2013 for HKD 562,500.00 (€ 55,062.46).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy von Qian Mu war einem Käufer im März 2017 USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.705,74) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Christies in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Qian Mu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Kaishu beobachtet, die im April 2013 für HKD 562.500,00 (€ 55.062,46) versteigert wurde.
