Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Qi Gong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Cologne in May this year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Seven-character Poem in Running Script sold for HKD 403,200.00 (€ 48,327.99) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Qi Gong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eight Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Standard Script in May 2021 with an auction result of HKD 5,375,000.00 (€ 568,179.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qi Gong erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Köln einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Seven-character Poem in Running Script für HKD 403.200,00 (€ 48.327,99) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Qi Gong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eight Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Standard Script im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.375.000,00 (€ 568.179,02).
