Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Qi Gong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Cologne in May this year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Red Bamboo and Orchid sold for HKD 529,200.00 (€ 63,430.49) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Qi Gong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Eight Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Standard Script in May 2021 with an auction result of HKD 5,375,000.00 (€ 568,179.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qi Gong erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Köln einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Red Bamboo and Orchid für HKD 529.200,00 (€ 63.430,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qi Gong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Eight Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Standard Script im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.375.000,00 (€ 568.179,02).
