This artwork by Qi Gong achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April this year. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 156,000.00 (€ 159,306.52) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Qi Gong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eight Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Standard Script, which sold at auction in May 2021 for HKD 5,375,000.00 (€ 568,179.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 95 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qi Gong erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 156.000,00 (€ 159.306,52) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Qi Gong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eight Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Standard Script beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für HKD 5.375.000,00 (€ 568.179,02) versteigert wurde.
