In April 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings and Portrait Miniatures, which included the work Still Life With A Fruit Basket And A Ming Bowl On A Table by Pseudo Jan Van Kessel II. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,528.00 (€ 4,058.23), 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Pseudo Jan Van Kessel II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grapes, Apples, Peaches In A Blue And White Porcelain Bowl, With Strawberries In A Broken Porcelain Bowl On A Stone Ledge, With A Monkey; And Grapes And Peaches In A Basket On A Raised Stone Ledge, With A Melon, Figs And A Turtle in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 35,153.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Portrait Miniatures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With A Fruit Basket And A Ming Bowl On A Table von Pseudo Jan Van Kessel II zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.528,00 (€ 4.058,23) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pseudo Jan Van Kessel II auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grapes, Apples, Peaches In A Blue And White Porcelain Bowl, With Strawberries In A Broken Porcelain Bowl On A Stone Ledge, With A Monkey; And Grapes And Peaches In A Basket On A Raised Stone Ledge, With A Melon, Figs And A Turtle im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 35.153,18).
