In November 2013 Christies in London held the auction Important Russian Art, which included the work Portrait of the Minister of Finance Sergei Yulyevich Witte (1849-1915) with His Setter by Paolo Troubetzkoy. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 110,500.00 (€ 132,971.96), 58% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Portrait of the Minister of Finance Sergei Yulyevich Witte (1849-1915) with His Setter the most expensive artwork by Paolo Troubetzkoy that we have observed at auctions so far.
