Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Light on the wall by Preecha Thaothong was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 55,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 56,250.00 (€ 5,031.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Preecha Thaothong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mural Painting, which sold at auction in May 2021 for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 13,213.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Light on the wall von Preecha Thaothong kam im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 55.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 56.250,00 (€ 5.031,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Preecha Thaothong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mural Painting beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für HKD 125.000,00 (€ 13.213,47) versteigert wurde.
