Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Scena galante by Pompeo Mariani was auctioned at Il Ponte in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 900.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pompeo Mariani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Elegant Ladies in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 59,375.00 (€ 43,292.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Scena galante von Pompeo Mariani im Dezember 2021 bei Il Ponte versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 900,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 800,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pompeo Mariani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two Elegant Ladies im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 59.375,00 (€ 43.292,02).
