The work Hercules, with a detail of a cuirass, after the antique by Pirro Ligorio was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2000. It achieved a price of GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,419.64), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. Admittedly, works by Pirro Ligorio have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two princes of the House of Guelph: Duke William VII and Duke Philip VI in January 2004 with an auction result of USD 22,705.00 (€ 18,234.02).

Die Arbeit Hercules, with a detail of a cuirass, after the antique von Pirro Ligorio kam im April 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.997,50 (€ 3.419,64) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pirro Ligorio auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two princes of the House of Guelph: Duke William VII and Duke Philip VI im Januar 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.705,00 (€ 18.234,02).
