Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Horse) by Piraji Sagara was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,950.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Piraji Sagara have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Cityscape) in November 2019 with an auction result of INR 2,750,000.00 (€ 34,690.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Horse) von Piraji Sagara wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.950,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Piraji Sagara auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Cityscape) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 2.750.000,00 (€ 34.690,08).
