Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Lingam Ii by Piraji Sagara. The price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,114.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Piraji Sagara - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Cityscape), which sold at auction in November 2019 for INR 2,750,000.00 (€ 34,690.08).
