Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Two Set Designs: A) Classical Buildings By A Quay, A Bridge To The Right B) Classical Buildings With Four Busts On Plinths In The Foreground by Pietro di Gottardo Gonzaga. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,605.88). Admittedly, works by Pietro di Gottardo Gonzaga have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two designs for the stage: The courtyard of a palace; and The fortified moat of a castle in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 18,400.00 (€ 18,858.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Set Designs: A) Classical Buildings By A Quay, A Bridge To The Right B) Classical Buildings With Four Busts On Plinths In The Foreground von Pietro di Gottardo Gonzaga zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.605,88) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pietro di Gottardo Gonzaga auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two designs for the stage: The courtyard of a palace; and The fortified moat of a castle im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.400,00 (€ 18.858,26).
