Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Madonna And Child With Saint Bernardino And Saint Catherine Of Siena by Pietro di Domenico was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 93,750.00 (€ 76,775.04). Other works by Pietro di Domenico have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2015 by the work Madonna And Child With Two Angels at USD 173,000.00 (€ 153,232.95).
