Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Arianna by Pietro Calvi was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 90,000.00 (€ 65,885.80). Other works by Pietro Calvi have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2014 by the work Italian Bust Of Othello, The Moor Of Venice at GBP 92,500.00 (€ 112,593.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Arianna von Pietro Calvi im April 2007 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 90.000,00 (€ 65.885,80) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Pietro Calvi wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April 2014 die Arbeit Italian Bust Of Othello, The Moor Of Venice mit GBP 92.500,00 (€ 112.593,91).
