Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Recto: St Peter Standing In A Niche; Verso: A Muse Playing A Lyre by Pietro Buonaccorsi for USD 18,750.00 (€ 12,633.92). This price was achieved in the auction The Jeffrey E. Horvitz Collection of Italian Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pietro Buonaccorsi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Family With The Infant Saint John The Baptist in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,530,076.56).
