Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pieter Wouwerman could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Soldiers playing cards outside an inn changed hands for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,818.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pieter Wouwerman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Horsemen Bathing Their Mounts At The Tour De Nesle With The Porte De Nesle And The Pont-Neuf Beyond, Paris in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 48,500.00 (€ 65,903.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pieter Wouwerman konnte im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Wouwerman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Horsemen Bathing Their Mounts At The Tour De Nesle With The Porte De Nesle And The Pont-Neuf Beyond, Paris im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 48.500,00 (€ 65.903,27).
