Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Horse Pond by Pieter Wouwerman was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 16,222.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Pieter Wouwerman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Horsemen Bathing Their Mounts At The Tour De Nesle With The Porte De Nesle And The Pont-Neuf Beyond, Paris in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 48,500.00 (€ 65,903.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Horse Pond von Pieter Wouwerman wurde im Januar 2010 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 16.222,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Wouwerman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Horsemen Bathing Their Mounts At The Tour De Nesle With The Porte De Nesle And The Pont-Neuf Beyond, Paris im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 48.500,00 (€ 65.903,27).
