Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Weldon Collection, which included the work Study Of A Boy'S Head by Pieter van Mol. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,993.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter van Mol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diogenes with his lantern looking for an honest man in January last year with an auction result of USD 5,779,200.00 (€ 5,154,477.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Weldon Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study Of A Boy'S Head von Pieter van Mol zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 55.993,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter van Mol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diogenes with his lantern looking for an honest man im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.779.200,00 (€ 5.154.477,35).
