Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS AT THE KUNSTFABRIEK, which included the work Cows in a river landscape by Pieter Stortenbeker. The price achieved of NLG 4,700.00 (€ 2,056.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Stortenbeker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cattle on the beach at low tide in October 2008 with an auction result of EUR 45,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS AT THE KUNSTFABRIEK durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cows in a river landscape von Pieter Stortenbeker zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 4.700,00 (€ 2.056,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Stortenbeker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cattle on the beach at low tide im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.400,00.
