Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grapes and vine leaves on a stone ledge with apples, mushrooms and a snail by Pieter Snyers was sold in the Old Master and British Pictures auction at Christies in London in July 2007. The price achieved of GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,475.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter Snyers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wild strawberries in a blue and white porcelain bowl, carnations, irises, and other flowers in an earthenware jug on a stone ledge with cherries and strawberries, which sold at auction in December 2006 for GBP 28,800.00 (€ 42,742.81).
