Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A wooded landscape with ladies and gentleman resting after the chase by Pieter Snyers was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,598.94). Admittedly, works by Pieter Snyers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wild strawberries in a blue and white porcelain bowl, carnations, irises, and other flowers in an earthenware jug on a stone ledge with cherries and strawberries in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 28,800.00 (€ 42,742.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A wooded landscape with ladies and gentleman resting after the chase von Pieter Snyers im Dezember 2001 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 5.875,00 (€ 9.598,94) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Snyers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wild strawberries in a blue and white porcelain bowl, carnations, irises, and other flowers in an earthenware jug on a stone ledge with cherries and strawberries im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.800,00 (€ 42.742,81).
