This work of art by Pieter Snyers could be acquired at Christies in New York in June 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Flowers In A Glass Vase With Reptiles In Preserve Jars And Shells On A Wooden Table; And Fruit In A Wicker Basket With A Snake In A Preserve Jar And Shells And A Chestnut On A Ledge changed hands for USD 35,000.00 (€ 25,566.11) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Other works by Pieter Snyers have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2006 by the work Wild strawberries in a blue and white porcelain bowl, carnations, irises, and other flowers in an earthenware jug on a stone ledge with cherries and strawberries at GBP 28,800.00 (€ 42,742.81).
