In April 2002 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work A landscape with a cavalry battle, gallows and a windmill beyond by Pieter Snayers. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 29,875.00 (€ 48,336.97), 66% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Pieter Snayers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Siege of Diksmuide; and The Siege of Armentières with a rainbow in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 208,738.29).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 66 % übertroffen

Im April 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A landscape with a cavalry battle, gallows and a windmill beyond von Pieter Snayers zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 29.875,00 (€ 48.336,97) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Snayers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Siege of Diksmuide; and The Siege of Armentières with a rainbow im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 208.738,29).
