Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mallam Umaru Ahmadu with Amita, Abuja, Nigeria, The Hyena Men Series, 2005 by Pieter Hugo was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in March 2021. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,801.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pieter Hugo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mummy Ahmadu and Mallam Mantari Lamal with Mainasara, Abuja, Nigeria, 2005 in May 2018 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 64,053.66).

Die Arbeit Mallam Umaru Ahmadu with Amita, Abuja, Nigeria, The Hyena Men Series, 2005 von Pieter Hugo wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert.
