Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2024 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture: Part II, which included the work Roses, carnations, poppies and other flowers by a tree trunk, with carnations in a sculpted flowerpot and a basket of grapes and other fruits in a garden by Pieter Gallis. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,012.06). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter Gallis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A festoon of fruit, hanging from a nail with a blue ribbon, which sold at auction in December 2019 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,501.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2024 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture: Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Roses, carnations, poppies and other flowers by a tree trunk, with carnations in a sculpted flowerpot and a basket of grapes and other fruits in a garden von Pieter Gallis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.012,06) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Pieter Gallis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A festoon of fruit, hanging from a nail with a blue ribbon beobachtet, die im Dezember 2019 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.501,78) versteigert wurde.
