Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a lady, half-length, in pink with pearls, holding a pink rose, beside a statue of Flora, in a courtyard, a landscape beyond by Pieter Cornelisz. van Slingelandt was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,765.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Cornelisz. van Slingelandt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a 'Japansche rok', standing in a library, giving a messenger a letter in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 216,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, half-length, in pink with pearls, holding a pink rose, beside a statue of Flora, in a courtyard, a landscape beyond von Pieter Cornelisz. van Slingelandt kam im Juli 2009 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.765,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Cornelisz. van Slingelandt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a 'Japansche rok', standing in a library, giving a messenger a letter im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 216.250,00.
