It achieved a price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,450.76), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. Admittedly, works by Pieter Christian Dommersen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Street scenes: Dome of Utrecht, Holland; and Purmerend, north Holland in October 2001 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 20,905.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Fishermen drawing in their nets off the Dutch coast von Pieter Christian Dommersen wurde im September 2012 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.450,76) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Christian Dommersen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Street scenes: Dome of Utrecht, Holland; and Purmerend, north Holland im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.800,00 (€ 20.905,15).
