Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work A busy harbour with shipping at anchor in the bay; and A busy harbour with figures loading boats in the foreground (2) by Pieter Casteels II. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,162.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Casteels II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Capriccio of A Busy Port With The Ruins of A Triumphal Arch; And A Capriccio of A Busy Port With A Bridge, A Coach In The Foreground in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 22,100.00 (€ 28,174.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A busy harbour with shipping at anchor in the bay; and A busy harbour with figures loading boats in the foreground (2) von Pieter Casteels II zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.162,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pieter Casteels II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Capriccio of A Busy Port With The Ruins of A Triumphal Arch; And A Capriccio of A Busy Port With A Bridge, A Coach In The Foreground im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.100,00 (€ 28.174,38).
