Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Roman ruins with figures by Pieter Anthonisz. van Groenewegen was sold in the Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection auction at Sothebys in London in March 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,552.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter Anthonisz. van Groenewegen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figures near a fountain amidst Roman ruins, which sold at auction in March 2021 for GBP 6,930.00 (€ 8,140.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Roman ruins with figures von Pieter Anthonisz. van Groenewegen wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.024,00 (€ 3.552,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
