In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work The Charlatans: an outdoor theater with a quack doctor and an audience of gentry, monks and townsfolk sold for USD 12,925.00 (€ 14,372.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pieter Angellis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of Covent Garden, London, on market day in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 56,450.00 (€ 69,618.53).
