Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'Chrysanten Tegen Perzisch Kleed' by Piet van Wijngaerdt was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in September 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 2,375.00. Admittedly, works by Piet van Wijngaerdt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Het Toilet in May 2006 with an auction result of EUR 11,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'Chrysanten Tegen Perzisch Kleed' von Piet van Wijngaerdt im September 2007 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 2.375,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Piet van Wijngaerdt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Het Toilet im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 11.400,00.
