The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,516.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Piet van Wijngaerdt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Het Toilet in May 2006 with an auction result of EUR 11,400.00.

Die Arbeit Boats On The River von Piet van Wijngaerdt wurde im Februar 2014 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.516,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Piet van Wijngaerdt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Het Toilet im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 11.400,00.
