Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Shark Riding (Levi's Advertising) by Pierre Winther was auctioned at Phillips in London in May 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,433.95). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre Winther - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shark Riding, 1992, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 14,357.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Shark Riding (Levi's Advertising) von Pierre Winther im Mai 2009 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.433,95) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Pierre Winther mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shark Riding, 1992 beobachtet, die im November 2008 für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 14.357,77) versteigert wurde.
