Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction British & European Art: European Art, which included the work The Last Hour of Pompeii - The House of the Poet by Pierre Olivier Joseph Coomans. The price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 68,620.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Other works by Pierre Olivier Joseph Coomans have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2006 the work The Dancing Girls was auctioned for GBP 60,000.00 (€ 86,819.00).

Im Juli 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & European Art: European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Last Hour of Pompeii - The House of the Poet von Pierre Olivier Joseph Coomans zur Versteigerung kam.
