In June 2006 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist and Spanish Art, which included the work The Dancing Girls by Pierre Olivier Joseph Coomans. The price achieved of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 86,819.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Dancing Girls is the most expensive artwork by Pierre Olivier Joseph Coomans that we have observed at auctions so far.
