Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Head Of A Young Girl Looking Down by Pierre Mignard. The price achieved of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,802.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre Mignard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a cleric, said to be Jean-François-Paul de Gondi, future Cardinal de Retz (1613-1679), seated three-quarter-length, a book in his hand, at a table in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 78,000.00 (€ 113,212.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Head Of A Young Girl Looking Down von Pierre Mignard zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.802,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre Mignard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a cleric, said to be Jean-François-Paul de Gondi, future Cardinal de Retz (1613-1679), seated three-quarter-length, a book in his hand, at a table im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 78.000,00 (€ 113.212,63).
