Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,042.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre Louis Cretey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Repos Pendant La Fuite En Egyptepierre-Louis Cretey ; The Rest During The Flight Into Egypt ; Oil On Canvas, which sold at auction in June 2013 for EUR 39,900.00.
