In June 2013 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Tableaux et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle, which included the work La Nativitépierre-Louis Cretey ; The Nativity ; Oil On Canvas by Pierre Louis Cretey. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 27,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Pierre Louis Cretey have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2013 the work Le Repos Pendant La Fuite En Egyptepierre-Louis Cretey ; The Rest During The Flight Into Egypt ; Oil On Canvas was auctioned for EUR 39,900.00.

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 27.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
