Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pierre-Jules Mêne could be acquired at Christies in London in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of the late Lord and Lady Swaythling auction, the work An Arab stallion changed hands for GBP 504.00 (€ 592.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre-Jules Mêne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Accolade in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 21,600.00 (€ 31,528.96).
