Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES, which included the work William III, Prince of Orange (1650-1702), facing left in gold-bordered and gilt-studded armour, lace cravat, full bottomed wig, wearing the blue moiré sash of the Order of the Garter by Pierre Huaud II. The price achieved of GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,575.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre Huaud II - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,297.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit William III, Prince of Orange (1650-1702), facing left in gold-bordered and gilt-studded armour, lace cravat, full bottomed wig, wearing the blue moiré sash of the Order of the Garter von Pierre Huaud II zur Versteigerung kam.
