A boy, possibly Augustus the Strong (1670-1733), Elector of Saxony and King of Poland, when Frederick Augustus Duke of Saxony, in gilt plate armour comprised of cuirass and spaulders, fine white Venetian lace cravat, scarlet satin ribbon bow, curling chestnut periwig
on vellum
oval, 1 5/8 in. (42 mm.) high, enamelled gold locket frame, the cover enamelled with a horseman crossing a bridge and a fisherman in a wooded river landscape, the reverse enamelled with the monogram 'FAHS' surmounted with a pink electoral crown bordered with trailing black and white foliage against opaque light blue ground

A top price for Pierre Huaud II - as previously expected
The work Unknown by Pierre Huaud II was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2011. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,297.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Unknown is the most expensive artwork by Pierre Huaud II that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Unknown von Pierre Huaud II kam im Juni 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.297,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Unknown das teuerste Kunstwerk von Pierre Huaud II, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
