Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Psyche Searching For Cupid by Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,024.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes achieve.
