This artwork by Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2000. In the Old Master Drawings at CSK auction, the work A fir tree sold for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 6,034.66) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Classical Landscape With A View Of Colonus, The Eumenides Temple On Mount Citheron, Oedipus And His Daughter Antigone Begging The Villagers Who Want To Expel Them From Their Sacred Ground; A Classical Landscape With Ulysses Imploring The Assistance Of N in January 2008 with an auction result of

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Classical Landscape With A View Of Colonus, The Eumenides Temple On Mount Citheron, Oedipus And His Daughter Antigone Begging The Villagers Who Want To Expel Them From Their Sacred Ground; A Classical Landscape With Ulysses Imploring The Assistance Of N im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 881.000,00 (€ 593.625,77).
