A top price for Pierre-François-Eugène Giraud - as previously expected
The work French La Douane Italienne Au Simplon by Pierre-François-Eugène Giraud was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 120,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 125,000.00 (€ 100,498.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, French La Douane Italienne Au Simplon is the most expensive artwork by Pierre-François-Eugène Giraud that we have observed at auctions so far.
