In October 2007 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art and Orientalist Art, which included the work Semiramis by Pierre-Eugène-Émile Hébert. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,279.51), 39% above the upper estimate. With this result, Semiramis is even the most expensive work of art by Pierre-Eugène-Émile Hébert that we have observed at auctions so far.
