This artwork by Pierre Carrier-Belleuse achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2018. In the 19th Century European & Orientalist Art auction, the work Sleeping nude sold for GBP 50,000.00 (€ 56,060.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre Carrier-Belleuse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Les Plaisirs de Paris', which sold at auction in June 2007 for EUR 120,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pierre Carrier-Belleuse erzielte im Juli 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European & Orientalist Art wurde die Arbeit Sleeping nude für GBP 50.000,00 (€ 56.060,99) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Pierre Carrier-Belleuse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Les Plaisirs de Paris' beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für EUR 120.000,00 versteigert wurde.
