Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Young Woman In Pink Dress by Pierre Carrier-Belleuse was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 22,680.00 (€ 18,982.26). Admittedly, works by Pierre Carrier-Belleuse have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Les Plaisirs de Paris' in June 2007 with an auction result of EUR 120,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Young Woman In Pink Dress von Pierre Carrier-Belleuse im November 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 22.680,00 (€ 18.982,26) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre Carrier-Belleuse auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Les Plaisirs de Paris' im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 120.000,00.
