Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Landscape With Antique Ruins And Tobias And The Angel In The Foreground by Antoine-Pierre Patel. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,361.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antoine-Pierre Patel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Italianate landscape with classical ruins and figures conversing by a bridge, which sold at auction in June 2002 for USD 19,120.00 (€ 19,399.35).
