This artwork by Antoine-Pierre Patel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2008. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work A Wooded Landscape With Narcissus And Echo sold for USD 23,750.00 (€ 16,002.96) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Antoine-Pierre Patel; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot An Italianate landscape with classical ruins and figures conversing by a bridge sold at auction in June 2002 with the realized price of USD 19,120.00 (€ 19,399.35).
